Prairie Dunes

All 18 Holes at Prairie Dunes

A detailed look at Perry Maxwell's inland classic

In 1937, famed architect Perry Maxwell designed and built nine golf holes in Hutchinson, Kansas. Twenty years later, his son Press finished the job, adding nine more to fill out the Prairie Dunes Country Club that today ranks among the greatest golf courses in the world. These 18 Maxwell holes in the Kansas dunes prove definitively that you don’t need a seaside canvas to carve out world-class links-style golf. As a consolation prize for those who’ve missed out on Broken Tee Society events at PD the past two seasons, here’s a detailed tour of every hole at this first-ballot inland Hall-of-Famer.
