Episode 113: The "Y" Word – The Golfer's Journal Podcast
Ward Jarvis first gained traction in golf circles in 2018 as a mental coach for Brendon Todd. When the pair started working together, Todd was ranked 2,045 in the world. He has since climbed as high as 39th in in the OWGR. Ward has most recently been a part of Lucas Glover’s return to the winner’s circle, along with the resurgence of Jimmy Walker. He also works closely with elite junior, amateur, and college players.
Ward Jarvis has gone from caddie to theology professor to firefighter to fixer of the yips. Jarvis joins host Tom Coyne on the TGJ Podcast to explain the science behind what he refers to as a “periodic loss of an automatic ability,” and how he helped three-time PGA Tour winner Brendon Todd overcome them. Jarvis also details how his own struggle with stuttering led him to teaching players of all skill levels how to build new memory patterns and find their flow.
