Into the Light
Tiger’s famed “shot in the dark” from 2000 is just one thread in the championship golf tapestry at Firestone Country Club. It has hosted top-level tournament golf for 70 consecutive years, and is a place where the greatest have shone brightest: Tiger has eight wins on the South course, and Jack has seven, including the 1975 PGA Championship. This July, we’ll walk the South’s hallowed fairways and the slightly gentler North. And those wanting an even bigger experience can add in the West course while staying in the guest rooms located within the men’s locker room.

Registration Rules
- You must be a TGJ member to sign up for Firestone
- Members can place reservation requests from April 24 at 9 a.m. ET to April 25 at 9 a.m. ET.
- You may request up to four spots.
- Singles are encouraged to place reservation requests.
- Submitting more than one request will not increase your chances of being chosen. Duplicates will be removed.
- Entries must be paid within 24 hours of receiving the notification email to avoid forfeiting your position in the event.

How many spots can I purchase?
You may purchase up to four spots.
We have rooms reserved at Firestone. These will offered up following drawing winners from the lottery on a first come, first served basis.
If I’m not selected initially, how I do I know where I stand on the waitlist?
A waitlist will be randomly drawn following the initial drawing.
We will publish the waitlist on Discord.
Does my guest have to be a member?
Yes, all guests must be active TGJ members. The best way to bring a non-member guest is to gift them a TGJ membership.
Yes, almost 50% of event attendees are singles. Bring a friend or come make some new ones. Otherwise, you will be paired with another BTS member at random.
Can I request to be paired with another twosome?
If you have another person or team you’d like to be grouped with, please submit the request on the Guest Details form on the Players Room following your purchase.
Are there handicap / skill requirements?
Players of all skillsets and handicaps are welcome to register. We only ask you are respectful, have fun and keep up with the group ahead of you.
There will be double-bogey max scoring in place.
We require a GHIN or other accredited handicap to participate in the NET division.
What is the cancellation policy?
In the event you have questions or need to cancel, please email Events@golfersjournal.com.Event refunds will be given the full amount, less 5% processing fees prior to July 10, 2024. Lodging refunds will be given the full amount, less 5% processing fees prior to May 20, 2024.
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal and payment plans through Affirm.
There will be a finite number of spots available for TGJ members in a lottery style registration. Members can place reservation requests in the allotted time given. During the registration request process, members can simply follow the instructions on screen by selecting the number of guests in their party and entering their information.
Members must be logged in to their account on golfersjournal.com in order to place a request.
The field will be decided via random drawing and those selected will be notified via email or text.
Selected members will have 24 hours from being notified to complete their registration by paying. Failing to pay or notify us will result in loss of spot. All members not selected will automatically be added to the waitlist. Once someone fails to pay, or declines the selection, we will continue to select members at random until the field is filled. There is no order of the waitlist.
Premium Villa Room:
Each private Villa room features a private bath and king bed. All rooms are equipped with wireless internet, workstations, Keurig machines with a selection of coffees and their own dedicated walkout to the 360-degree views of your favorite courses. Never leave the green while maintaining privacy and suburb accommodation.
Standard Villa Room:
Every Villa features a private, separately keyed guest room, each with a private bath. The four guest rooms share a spacious room with a dining area, billiards, and a balcony with the most desired views at the Club.
Clubrooms:
If you’re looking for an intimate and truly unique accommodation with a bit more privacy, our newly renovated Premium Club Rooms now feature a half bath in every room. While every room has its own LCD television, the Premium Club Room area also offers its own common space created for post-round stories and libations.
Each foursome will be provided a forecaddie for both rounds of golf on July 20.
If you want to upgrade to a walking caddie, the fees are as follows: $75 + gratuity per round, per bag.
