Simple, seamless and effortlessly charming: Gearhart Golf Links along the northwest coast of Oregon provides the perfect location for TGJ’s inaugural match play championship.

Over the course of three days, Broken Tee Society members and their partner will play a series of nine-hole matches using a format that’s become a staple among Gearhart residents. Come for the thrill of AS with one to play, stay for the cozy digs, curated menus and small-town hospitality.

  • 2:30 p.m.: Nine-hole match
  • 4:45 p.m.: Cocktail reception
  • 6:00 p.m.: Match play winners’ horse race
  • 6:30 p.m.: Dinner reception

TGJ Members enjoy accommodation discounts at McMenamins Gearhart Hotel, Gearhart By The Sea Condominiums as well as The Drafthaven at Gearhart Cottages. Lodging information will be available upon completion of your registration.

FAQ’s

Where should I stay?

Members have access to codes for room block with preferred rates. Information will be available post purchase on the Players Room page. 

How many spots can I purchase?

Members are permitted to purchase one foursome each.

Does my guest have to be a Member?

No, all guests do not have to be active TGJ members. We would love your non-member guest(s) to join BTS. The best way to do so would be to use your referral code!

Can I register as a single?

Yes, you will be paired with another single at random. 

What is the event format?

June 3rd: Practice Round ($20 cash skins game, Net & Gross)

June 4th: Qualifying Round: 2-Person Better Ball

June 5th: 27-Hole Match Play

What happens if it sells out before I register?

If the event is sold out before you register, you can enter the waitlist found on this page. Waitlisted Members will be chosen at random, when registered members withdraw. 

Can I request to be paired with another twosome?

If you have another person or team you’d like to be grouped with, please submit the request on the Guest Details form on the Players Room following your purchase. 

Are there handicap / skill requirements?

Players of all skillsets and handicaps are welcome to register. We only ask you are respectful, have fun and keep up with the group ahead of you.
There will be double-bogey max scoring in place.

Can I reserve a caddie?

There will be no caddies available at Gearhart.

Can I do replay rounds?

Yes, there will be free replay rounds daily at Gearhart Golf Links!

What is the cancellation policy?
In the event you need to cancel, please email Events@golfersjournal.com as soon as possible so we can notify the next member on the waitlist. You will be refunded the full amount less processing fees outside of 35 days. Inside of the 35 days replacements will be accepted, but refunds will not be. The cutoff date is May 28, 2023.
What are the payment options?

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal and payment plans through Affirm.

Getting There

From the East –

Take HWY 26 to the junction at HWY 101. Head North on HWY 101 through Seaside, to the 1 and only stoplight in Gearhart. Turn Left at the light onto Pacific Way, heading west towards the Ocean. Go through downtown Gearhart, crossing Cottage Avenue. Turn right on Marion Avenue. Marion will lead you to our Clubhouse on the right hand side. There is parking on both the North and South sides of the Club House, with the North Lot being closer to the Pro Shop.

From the West –

You’ll need a bigger boat.
