This year, our champion will be crowned at the home of one of golf’s greatest. The second annual BTS Club Championship is going to Shady Oaks, Ben Hogan’s longtime club. Winners of all 2024 TGJ events are invited, as are the top finishers in our Local Qualifying challenge. With the season wrapping up, it’s time to put your game to the test and make some of your own history.

About the Club Championship
Since the first Scot knocked a stone across a windswept dune, every club worth its salt has determined its finest players. With thousands of members spread across the globe, determining the Broken Tee Society’s best gets a bit more complicated. But this November, 108 BTS members will duke it out at Ben Hogan’s home club, and two will leave with a new honorific: Broken Tee Society Club Champion. Sharpen your weapons. The second annual BTS Club Championship is upon us.

Registration Rules
- You must be a TGJ member to sign up for Shady Oaks
- Members can place reservation requests from August 21 at 9 a.m. ET to August 28 at 9 a.m. ET.
- You may request up to two spots.
- Singles are encouraged to place reservation requests.
- Submitting more than one request will not increase your chances of being chosen. Duplicates will be removed.
- Entries must be paid within 24 hours of receiving the notification email to avoid forfeiting your position in the event.
FAQs
How many spots can I purchase?
You may purchase up to four spots.
We will provide suggested hotels for participants following registration in the Players’ Room.
If I’m not selected initially, how I do I know where I stand on the waitlist?
A waitlist will be randomly drawn following the initial drawing.
We will publish the waitlist on Discord.
Does my guest have to be a member?
Yes, all guests must be active TGJ members. The best way to bring a non-member guest is to gift them a TGJ membership.
Yes, almost 50% of event attendees are singles. Bring a friend or come make some new ones. Otherwise, you will be paired with another BTS member at random.
Can I request to be paired with another twosome?
If you have another person or team you’d like to be grouped with, please submit the request on the Guest Details form on the Players Room following your purchase.
Are there handicap / skill requirements?
Players of all skillsets and handicaps are welcome to register. We only ask you are respectful, have fun and keep up with the group ahead of you.
There will be double-bogey max scoring in place.
We require a GHIN or other accredited handicap to participate in the NET division.
What is the cancellation policy?
In the event you have questions or need to cancel, please email Events@golfersjournal.com. Refunds will be given the full amount, less 5% processing fees prior to April 8, 2024.
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal and payment plans through Affirm.
Members can place reservation requests in the allotted time given. During the registration request process, members can simply follow the instructions on the screen by selecting the number of guests in their party and entering their information.
Members must be logged in to their account on golfersjournal.com in order to place a request.
Winners of select 2024 TGJ events are invited, as are the top finishers in our Local Qualifying challenge. First priority for the remaining spots will be given to members who submitted Index Experience scorecards this season, however all members are encouraged to enter or join the waitlist.
The field will be decided via random drawing and those selected will be notified via email or text.
Selected members will have 24 hours from being notified to complete their registration by paying. Failing to pay or notify us will result in loss of spot. All members not selected will automatically be added to the waitlist. Once someone fails to pay, or declines the selection, we will continue to select members at random until the field is filled. There is no order of the waitlist.
