Before Kyle Phillips revamped the Cal Club and put his stamp on global golf from Kingsbarns to Valderrama, he laid out Granite Bay in 1994 while working under Robert Trent Jones Jr. Situated 30 minutes from downtown Sacramento, Granite’s expert routing rolls over some of the area’s finest golfing ground. A recent renovation has the course playing in Phillips’ original vision: hard, fast and fun. It will be in peak condition come early November, and we think this trip to Sactown is well worth it.
