A Little Piece of History
Ben Crenshaw, Dustin Johnson, Anthony Kim and Collin Morikawa each polished their amateur resumes by winning The Northeast Amateur, held annually at Donald Ross’s par-69 Wannamoisett. Fewer routings pack more punch into less space. In fact, Ross himself described Wannamoisett as “the best layout I have ever made….No congestion, fine variety, and excellent golf.”
This September, the Broken Tee Society will be among the first to experience Andrew Green’s recently completed Ross-inspired renovation, which has further cemented the club as one of the country’s greats. Join us for two loops around this Ocean State treasure.

Ben Crenshaw on Wannamoisett
“In these days of blatant commercialism with respect to new courses, let me raise a toast to the par of 69 set beautifully on some 105 acres where everything has its place—where one comes away with the thought of how could anyone so talented as Donald Ross combine such clever strategy and yet include such a vast array of different situations and golf shots. And those fascinating greens! 105 acres was simply all the land that Mr. Ross had at his disposal, or needed; thus the par 69 has been Wannamoisett’s ‘Badge of Honor.’”
